GROUP CONFLICT
Group work requires clear communication and co-operation between all members. We hope that every group will mesh well and agree on their collaborative process even when compromises are needed, but understand that disagreements and other roadblocks may occur. In the case of a group conflict, the following steps will be taken.
Step 1: Group discussion – Groups will arrange time to meet to discuss the issue at hand to try to resolve things on their own.
Step 2: Instructor-mediated group conversation – If the group is unable to resolve the issue among themselves, they will organize a meeting with the instructor.
Step 3: Attempt compromise – If the issue is still not able to be resolved through conversation, the instructor will put forth a compromise. Groups will try out this compromise.
Step 4: Group restructuring – If all of the above steps are taken and the issue is still ongoing, the group may need to be restructured.
