There are many examples of experimental TV shows created by artists, especially in the spheres of public broadcasting and the Internet. We’ll be looking at a few examples that follow the format of short interrelated videos aggregated into a 20-30-minute episode:

  1. Sistership TV – a 4-part series of contemporary experimental video, music, and performance art created by The Powers: a trio of artists working collaboratively across media.
  2. The Divine David Presents – a TV show from the late 1990s produced by World of Wonder for Channel 4 in the UK, and presented by the anti-drag performance artist David Hoyle, then known as The Divine David.
  3. Planet SLEDD – an independently produced YouTube Live show by local musician and video artist Evan Gordon, aka SLEDD, about an alien named SLEDD.
  4. Lido TV – a variety show created by the Colombian-Canadian musician and visual artist Lido Pimienta for CBC Gem.
